WHO IS OUR TARGET AUDIENCE?

As a group, we decided our target audience would be young people aged 15-25 as most films of the Social Realism genre are aimed at this age group. We also chose this target audience as most cinema go-ers are of a similar age to that of which we have chosen.

"Young people aged 15-24 are the most likely age group to go to the cinema. In 2002, 50 percent of this age group reported that they went to the cinema once a month or more in Great Britian, compared with 17 percent of those aged 35 and over."

COSTUME: Jodie: Grey tracksuit. Friend (Chantelle): Black and grey hoodie & leggings

TITLES ANALYSIS
(Twenty Four Seven: 24/7)

TITLES LAST FOR 6 SECONDS FROM THE FIRST UNTIL 'LINE PRODUCER' AFTER THAT THEY LAST FOR DIFFERENT LENGTHS OF TIME EACH. (SOME 10 SECONDS AND OTHERS 20). THESE LONGER LASTING TITLES SHOW JOB ROLES SUCH AS EXECUTIVE PRODUCER AND DIRECTOR.
OTHER JOB ROLES INCLUDE: COSTUME DESIGNER, CASTING DIRECTOR, EDITOR, PRODUCTION DESIGNER, ORGINAL MUSIC AND DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY.
I WILL BE SURE TO INCLUDE THESE SORTS OF JOB ROLES IN MY OWN OPENING TWO MINUTES.

CHARACTERISTICS OF SOCIAL REALISM TITLES

- Plain, simple text.
- White titles on a plain black background, or white titles on top of a montage of clips.
- Standard effects for example, fade in.
- Small font taking up one corner of the screen.
- Minimum titles at the start of a film, the rest credited on the credits at the end.

TITLES TEST

We created this short video as an example of what titles could be used at the start of our film.
It resembles the opening to Bullet Boy as we felt this was a good example of the start of a social realism film.
The music also has a similar sound as we did not want singing; the sound alone gives an enigma as it is dramatic
